Richard Sirlin expands Lakeville Industries to Smithtown with an elegant new kitchen & bath showroom. Despite downturn, Sirlin is optimistic Lakeville will perform well in the heart of Suffolk County. Richard Sirlin, president of Lakeville Industries, knows a good thing when he sees it.
Believing it was time to expand – even in a downturn – Sirlin visited a vacant 5,000 square foot showroom built perfectly for elegant kitchen cabinets and he agreed to open a Lakeville unit on Southern Boulevard in Smithtown, a thriving region of Long Island. And on April 14, some 200 industry professionals and guests appeared to celebrate the opening of Lakeville’s newest kitchen and bathroom showroom.
As for the downturn, Sirlin said, “We’ve been hurt tremendously by the recession, but the upward climb is progressing and improving daily.”
Among the guests was his 86-year-old father, Al Sirlin and his mother Sylvia, the second generation of a company that was founded by his grandfather in 1935, a year notable as being in the depths of the Great Depression.
The headquarters of Lakeville is located in Lindenhurst which features kitchen and bathroom designs also and is often compared to the D&D Building in Manhattan, which offers contractors, builders, designers and architects, as well as consumers, the latest trends in Kitchen & Bathroom design.
Sirlin likens the new showroom on Southern Boulevard to Lindenhurst’s full-service offerings, where he said, “We coordinated all the activities with the consumer’s contractor and builder, from measurements to installations, specifications and project scheduling.”
“The opening of our Smithtown showroom allows Lakeville another avenue to provide the same exceptional service, high caliber products and years of experience to all our valued customers. It also affords us the opportunity to give back to a community that has trusted and supported Lakeville for over three generations,” Sirlin said.
The new showroom will operate with the staff from Lindenhurst, who many have come to know and trust.
The new showroom features more than 40 kitchen and bath displays, each unique in styles running the gamut of traditional, modern, and contemporary. Highlighted in the array of kitchen and bath settings are such topflight domestic manufacturers as Medallion Cabinetry, Crystal Cabinets and Plain & Fancy, along with Elkay Sinks & Faucets, Corian, Zodiak, Silestone, granite and laminate countertops.
