Countertops are an integral part of every kitchen. They come in many shades and materials to fit all of your personal style preferences and needs. Taking a look at both the pros and cons of classic options like granite, quartz, and marble can help you to discover what’s best for your new kitchen.

Granite
When properly sealed, granite won’t absorb liquids or leave stains.  Granite does not scratch easily. You can put a hot tray right on the countertop without burning it because granite resists heat.  It also comes in many shades for any kitchen styles. Cons with granite really only occur when it is not sealed properly. Maintenance requires resealing every 3-5 years, otherwise the countertop will absorb liquid and may leave a stain.  As long as you make sure your countertop is sealed, this eye-catching countertop can be the highlight of any kitchen.

Quartz
Quartz is another great option for many kitchens and it gives the look of natural stone.  The maintenance is simple because it doesn’t need to be sealed and is nonporous, so bacteria won’t grow.  This countertop comes in various shades for all color preferences. It should be noted that it doesn’t resist heat well, but all that means is you should be sure to use a trivet underneath all hot pans and trays.  Using quartz will work well for any lifestyle.

Marble
Marble is a gorgeous material that can be seen everywhere recently.  Marble is heat resistant and every individual piece is different than the next, so your kitchen will be unique.  Like granite, you also have to make sure that marble is resealed to keep it resistant to stains. When having a marble countertop you want to use a cutting board to avoid scratches.  Marble is a great choice and will make your countertop pop in your kitchen.
